The restaurant is busy, busy, busy! We waited 15 minutes at 21:00 (or, I should say, my dinner date waited while I went to the bathroom. haha!). We had the famous deep-fried watercress appetizer with pad thai and drunken noodles as our entrees. The watercress was spicy and delicious. An interesting taste and a lovely crisp.
The entrees were typical for a Thai place but with prices like 9.00USD/dish, it’s a great place to eat large portions of good food. If you’re curious about Thai food, the restaurant has a variety to choose from. I took some of the app and pad thai home and they tasted great the next day too (still crispy watercress!). I really enjoyed the contrast between the modern decor with the low-budget, endearingly-tacky, laminated menus we’ve all come to love about Southeast Asian joints.
At any point during the meal if you want to use the bathroom, you can expect a 2-minute wait since there are two single rooms for each gender (that’s 4 toilets overall, ladies and gentlemen). The restaurant makes an attempt at decoration in each bathroom: some fake flowers, some air freshener, etc. It’s clean and even green maybe. That is, even though you have the option of using paper towels or a hand dryer, the restaurant has posted up big signs entreating its customers to use the hand dryer instead.
While all this would usually earn this bathroom a 2.5 out of 5 sheets rating, the real crown on this throne is the amazing SANI-SEAT system. By passing your hand over a sensor pad, you activate a plastic covering on the toilet seat to retract and replace itself with a fresh cover. For the extremely sanitation-conscience restauranteur, this is a godsend and earns SriPraPhai a whopping 3 out of 5 sheets.
